Sacred Rage is a body of work that helps women to access and embody the pleasure, goodness, clarity, wisdom and power within our own anger. This work is about reframing what we have been taught about anger and how we relate, feel and embody it. When we truly know how to cultivate and/or embody the energy of organic anger, we harness this potent life-force energy for our own personal healing as well as goodness for the world we live in. ​

Contrary to what some people may associate with the term 'Sacred Rage', this body of work is actually deeply relational, gentle, fun and often energising. I am not a massive fan of 'catharsis'. Not against it, but not a fan. I find it's often very overwhelming for our systems and can blow the fuse on our nervous system (reinforcing collapse and repeating the repression loop...'anger is dangerous'). It can leave women feeling depleted afterwards. Working and harnessing our anger requires us to enter relationship with it. Through embodied, attuned practices and techniques we receive the many blessings and wisdom from this potent life-affirming energy. The pace and capacity of this work is different for everyone, but is often a delicate and enjoyable creative process. For many women it is a journey of cultivating and feeling our own 'inner-protector' that has our back. Our mama bear energy. The fierce and loving life force energy within us that is FOR us and essential to our vitality. This work is restorative and energizing; broadening our capacity to hold our own power.

​​This work is about validating our anger. Creating a space where anger is not bypassed, pathologized or shamed...which tends to be the case is many spiritual, wellbeing and therapeutic settings. Instead we see anger as sacred. As a medicine. And honor the intelligence and wisdom within it. Through kind exploration, holding and embodiment practices and processes, we re-wire our system to feel and welcome our own anger. Anger as ally.
It is the antidote to people pleasing. The antidote to chronic self-abandonment. The antidote to self-aggression and self blame (it's a common pattern that women unconsciously direct this energy towards themselves). The antidote to playing small and staying invisible. To dis-trusting ourselves, to confusion.

Something that often arises, very organically, in this work is a ineffable sense of self trust. ​​

ANGER AS PASSION & POWER
Women who experience this work get to experience the beautiful truth that their anger is not what they thought it was. Due to social and patriarchy conditioning, anger has become distorted and this wholesome energy has been hijacked. Which means what we associate or believe anger to be, is often not true. We are taught anger is a behavior, when in fact, anger is a feeling. An organic, good, healthy and essential feeling. Because of this social conditioning women are avoidant, scared or blind to their own anger; which causes a whole host of problems. Problems with our health (80% of autoimmune conditions belong to women), within our relationships, life choices, creative expression and with our own sense of autonomy and agency. By repressing our own anger, we are in fact repressing our healthy sense of discernment, judgment and clarity...often making us vulnerable to abuse dynamics, ill health, people pleasing tendencies and a poor sense of Self.
​A huge facet of this work is about addressing and improving the health of our nervous system. Because of social conditioning, narrative around patriarchal femininity mean women don't tend to have good or healthy access to healthy aggression (as a feeling, NOT a behavior). This poor access to our sympathetic branch means women tend to freeze and fawn when under threat and stress. Therefore women are more likely to remain stuck in collapse and frozen states, to suffer from diseases and immune system dysfunctions. With sacred rage work, we actual tone and strengthen our sympathetic branch, giving us more ability to completion as well as decrease our chances of prolonged trauma, stress and illness. I find many women tend to suffer and carry around low-level freeze responses. It's almost become the norm. Sacred rage work thaws out our freeze; in a delicate, safe and relational way. It is the medicine of these times and is needed now more than ever. ​

I think on some level, ALL women (in fact all humans) deserve to know this body of work. But some of the key areas/people it can help with are:

Katy is a certified teacher and facilitator in Sacred Rage. She is trained to guide both 1:1 and group facilitation & experiences.
Cost
As this body of work is deeply relational, it is advised to commit to a minimum of 4-6 sessions, to give us an adequate container to really unfold into this work.

£75 a session - or £70 per session if you pay for block sessions upfront.
Sessions are an hour. Online or in-person.
