About the Workshop
This workshop is an immersive experience where you will be invited into the depth of your own gender story. We will co-create a safe space to ask questions, learn from each other, and grow in understanding of gender nonconforming experiences. There will be times of reflection, encouraging us to learn, unlearn, and understand. As well as practical information, historical contexts, and discussions of real life application. Workshop highlights: Begin to understand terminology and gender non-conforming experiences Begin to understand the colonial roots of the gender binary, the systemic erasure of diverse genders, and how this uniquely impacts trans and gender non-conforming (TGNC) individuals Reflect on how our understanding of gender developed and how the gender binary has affected us all Begin to understand Gender Dysphoria, Minority Stress Theory, Gender Trauma and the unique impacts of these on TGNC people Discuss therapeutic applications and considerations How to create safe spaces for TGNC clients Begin to understand allyship and advocacy
