ABOUT ME
Katy Kettner She/her
Founder and Pelvic Health Physiotherapist
I am fascinated about the lived experiences of our bodies in our society today and I believe pelvic health plays a integral role in our overall well being and quality of life. Over the years I have observed a deep connection between the intricacies of and within a women's pelvic bowl (the root of our being) and her sense of self and vitality, confidence, body agency and self-connection. And yet it baffles me why the topic of pelvic health has and remains so taboo.

It is a great privilege to offer multimodal and evidence informed care. My clinical practice is underpinned by my hope in a world where we can begin to critique and dismantle the stigmas, shame and taboo associated with our pelvic area. Inspired by examining the way history's oppression, alienation, injustice and compartmentalisation has impacted women's health, I am passionate about restoring our sense of embodied wholeness.
I qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2013 and since then had extensive experience in pelvic health in both private and the NHS sector, including leading a pelvic health service as a Clinical Specialist within a local NHS Hospital.

As well as undertaking broad post-grad training and development within the field of Pelvic Health, I have a diploma in Counselling, and I am currently working toward my diploma in Psychosexual Medicine.
My Approach
Whole-person, integrative, evidence-informed
I have collated and established an approach to helping and rehabilitating women that truly considers and incorporates their every dimension.
Thanks to the birth and emerging fields of Neuroscience, Interpersonal Neurobiology and Developmental and Somatic Psychology, we have developed an outstanding appreciation of the mind-body connection. I feel very passionate that these expanding sciences are reflected in our current healthcare provision for optimal care. The vast increase in our knowledge about the basic processes that underlie the function of the human body has opened up new possibilities to the way we can help one another. This brings me so much excitement!

I adopt a whole person, holistic and integrative approach in my clinical practice. I assess and treat a wide range of pelvic floor dysfunctions based on a trauma and psychologically informed framework when necessary.

I recognise that changes to the body can effect our entire lives. We were never supposed to be on this journey of change alone, yet many women feel isolated in their pelvic health struggles! It is my passion to help my clients to journey their seasons of change and struggle.
